Stefan Schwarz is a registered physiotherapist (registration no. 10381, Col·legi de Fisioterapeutes de Catalunya), an osteopath (VWOD no. 0681, since 2018) and a Heilpraktiker, having obtained the corresponding German state licence for non-medical health practitioners in 2008. He has practised since 1998 and has run his own clinic in Barcelona's Eixample district since 2012.
His career has centred on sports physiotherapy and return-to-sport reconditioning. He was physiotherapist to VfL Wolfsburg in the 2001-02 season and has since worked with professional and semi-professional athletes in football, judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, skateboarding, hockey, Hyrox and CrossFit.
In clinic he combines conventional diagnostics (case history, imaging and laboratory results) with the functional muscle testing of applied kinesiology. Treatment draws on structural, visceral and craniosacral osteopathy and on Typaldos's Fascial Distortion Model (FDM), supported where appropriate by 15 W laser therapy, pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) and biomechanical stimulation (BMS).
Since 2012 he has taught on the BVFG academy's course in integrative medicine based on applied kinesiology in Potsdam, and he trained in osteopathy at the International Academy of Osteopathy. On his own blog he writes up real cases from his practice. He consults in Spanish, German and English.
