AcuTop

AcuTop is a German kinesiology tape brand specialising in elastic taping for physiotherapy, rehabilitation and sport. We stock both of its main ranges plus the cross tape.

AcuTop Classic is cotton: breathable, comfortable against the skin and the usual choice for day-to-day clinic work. AcuTop Pro Sport is reinforced viscose, with more resistance to sweat and friction, made for athletes and for taping that has to survive several days of training.

Both share the standard 5 cm x 5 m format. For high-throughput practices there is the 35 m XXL roll, which brings the cost per metre down sharply against single rolls, and the 6-roll multicolour boxes, one colour per roll, useful when you are working through several patients or want to distinguish application areas.

Cross tape is a different animal: it is not elastic and does not go on in long strips. It comes as a lattice grid and is placed over trigger points and acupuncture sites, in several sizes according to the area being treated.

If you are choosing between cotton and viscose, the practical rule is simple: cotton for clinic and general use, viscose when sweat, heat or heavy activity are involved.
