Hoggan microFET2 Muscle Dynamometer — without Clinical Software

The wireless microFET2 is a battery-powered handheld dynamometer that delivers accurate, objective measurements of muscle force. According to the manufacturer, it measures the peak force applied to the attached transducer pad and its duration during any muscle test, and is indicated for quantifying muscle weakness caused by injury and for measuring general muscle strength.

This version is supplied without the clinical software package and therefore without the Bluetooth device (FET Stick) that the manufacturer includes with that package. The dynamometer works as a standalone unit: it records tests, shows them on screen and stores up to 30 results.

Intended use and qualification. The manufacturer states that the microFET2 must be used by a physician, or by medical personnel under the supervision of a physician, and that the user must have received sufficient training in clinical procedures. The guide identifies it as a medical device for prescription use only.

Contraindications stated by the manufacturer. Do not use on or near open wounds, on or near burned tissue, on or near an eye, on or near fractures, or in patients with severe osteoporosis. It must not be used for purposes other than those indicated.
